Inside the Designer's Home: Wilder Residence
In this whole home renovation of the Wilders’ mid-century modern Bethesda house, the kitchen serves as the hub of the home. The center, square island accommodates seating on three sides and is wrapped in marble. Clean and crisp, the white-on-white kitchen represents the modern aesthetic that the owners are drawn to, while also in keeping with the home’s original architecture.
“It’s an emotional undertaking,” says Anthony, when renovating your own home. “And I now have even more empathy towards our clients making these tough decisions now that I had to make them at my own home.”
At the heart of this single-story home is a courtyard with manicured boxwoods; the newly renovated outdoor living space includes a pool, hot tub, tennis court and deck. For more about this design build remodel, read Inside a Designer’s Home.
