Personalized Design Makes a Difference

See how good design can make your life easier

Your home is where your life happens. It’s where you start your day, end your day, cook your meals, and spend time with your family. When your home is designed for your life, it makes your life a lot easier. Here are a few of the thoughtful details and custom designs we’ve carefully crafted for our clients.

A Dual-Purpose Dining Room

Many dining rooms are only used on formal occasions. When husband and wife architect and interior designer, JP and Kelly Ward, (both of ANTHONY WILDER) took on their own kitchen renovation, they designed a room that serves two needs: a place for formal dining and a work/office station. The transformation occurs with the simple slide of elegant wooden double doors.  When open, a work station with office supplies and equipment are easily accessed and the dining table can be used as homework-central every night of the week. The doors close to hide the work station and reveal an elegant collection of art and china creating a formal aesthetic for weekend entertaining.

A Place for Everything

A family of five, including three teenagers, has a lot of “stuff,” so we designed a mudroom for them with a place for everything. We incorporated cubbies, a desk, built-ins and a barn door to close and hide clutter. Gone are the hours lost looking for missing keys, shoes, or even bills, and gone is the stress-inducing clutter that used to be scattered in the living room.

Room to Flow

When your home is a network of small cramped rooms, it can make you feel isolated from family members, and generally confined.  An open layout improves interaction among family and an abundance of natural light improves your mood. Elements such as a prep-sink in the island and a butler’s pantry were tailored to our client’s individual needs and allow them to entertain guests in either the kitchen or the dining room with ease.

A Culinary Haven

Like any job, cooking and entertaining is best done with the right tools. For these homeowners who regularly host friends, family, and friends of family, the oversized island is the perfect casual gathering spot; a large sink and tall faucet and plenty of seating make the island a perfect prep area. An imported LaCanche range enables gourmet cooking tailored to the client’s individual culinary style. Cooking and prep are now streamlined and can be done while guests sit around the island.

A Place to Unwind

No matter how busy or stressful your day is, you always end it back home. So, why not make your home a place to escape and unwind. These homeowners love to be outdoors after spending all day inside the office; to ensure they could retreat to their tree-top oasis every day of the year, we incorporated a hot tub, outdoor firepit, outdoor TV, ceiling fans and outdoor furniture into their treetop deck.

A Home Office for Two

The homeowners often work from home, and we designed a custom office space for them with a place for everything. A custom cord control system into the Corian desktops reduces clutter and saves space. Instead of grommets we cut a long narrow rectangular opening along the back of both desktops, allowing cable access anywhere along the surface. We installed special trays beneath the cord slots to prevent the cables from dangling and looking messy. We also integrated pull-out paper trays into the desktops and converted an existing closet into a copy center. Custom built‐ins organize files, children’s school memorabilia, and other items.
